Kimberly was not looking foreward to coming to a school that she felt she didn't need to be at. She was fine, so she liked to cut, or she liked to burn, but it was how she felt alive. She looked dead out the window as the car pulled down the drive to Horizon.
It was a long flight from Florida to St. Agnes, Washington State. It was a flight that was done in silence. She was silent on the way, her bags were checked underneath the plane. They had to wait for hours to get them even through baggage claim, and now the drive in silence. She stared out the window....
Once at Horizon, she was silent as they stopped the rental car. "Okay Kimberly Faye, we are here I expect you to be nice to them, let them help you chica." It was her mother's voice breaking into the silence. She rolled her eyes, as she hugged herself close. This really sucked in her opinion. She wished that her mother would learn that well that she didn't need help. She was fine on her own.
She sighed as she got out the car, she grabbed her bags, and well she had stuff she would need hidden in her bag that she hoped no one would fine. This was the beginning of her nightmare of Horizon. She looked at the outside of the main office. She sighed, this was something she wished wouldn't have ever happened. She didn't think anything was wrong, until her mother found her cutting rather deep. It was the one time she went a little too deep. Where she had sliced into a vein. She sighed.

(for the purpose of getting her storyline going, I am going to roleplay with myself here...)
Leo had been waiting for the newest admit, a lot of the pathwinder's counselors were getting bugged down and confused with all the admits going on. Currently there were about three pathwinder's being admitted, two of them were already talking the counselors for there group. So here Leo was looking over the newest girl's file. Her name was Kimberly Leanne Faye, her age was sixteen. She was the newest kid to Horizon. He wasn't sure who he was going to buddy her with but, he figured it would have to be someone who had been at Horizon for a while.
He was starting to get a feel for the groups, reading over all the students that attended Horizon. Seeing what any of them went through, the reasons why they were there. She was there because she cut and burn herself. The reason's where unknown, but Leo had to guess something traumatic happened to the young lady. However what all could you get from a file? A file wasn't a human, it couldn't tell you what was going on in a person's life. It could barely tell him the personality of the girl. Other then she seemed to be closed off now. He wished and hoped that Horizon would change that.
Leo heard the familiar sound of a car pulling up, doors being slammed and the sound of feet coming to the office. Instead of being in an office he was outside the admit room. "Kimberly Faye?" He asked as the family walked into the room. He hoped he had it right. Or he would feel awkward. "I'm Leo McKnight, one of the counselors here at Horizon, why don't you go ahead and come into the admit room with me." He smiled at her.

Kimberly sighed as she came into the room (offices). She looked around for a moment before the great looking Counselor caught her eyes. She smiled at him as she put her hair back and out of her face some. She figured this admit wouldn't take to long. That she wouldn't really have to stay there. She wished that her parents were doing this as a joke. She opened her mouth, "You know I'm fine, I don't really need to be here, we can go home." She told her mother as soon as she did, the counselor spoke. She looked over at him as if he had trespassed. "Yeah, I'm Kimberly, but I don't plan on staying here, so you can go ahead and forget that idea." She looked at him. She was set on him just believing that.
She turned a little bit, but her parents pushed her towards the door. "Kimberly we are doing this for your own good, now please behave." The parents spoke calmly. They really cared for Kimberly, but they weren't getting anywhere with her. She had been to several counselors and still nothing. She was iced cold to them. She didn't trust and she wasn't going to trust ever. She figured the more she put off like it was nothing, the sooner she could go home.
She went into the room and slumped onto the seat. She wished this wasn't happening. Her parents stayed outside, filling out the rest of the paperwork, and then having to leave. They didn't want to stick around, they felt if they did it would just make Kimberly feel unwanted, unloved, or like she was going to get a chance to go home. She looked at Leo, her expressions hardening as she tried to mask how she was feeling.

Leo couldn't help but to chuckle at how quickly Kimberly tried to say she didn't need Horizon. He wasn't worried about that, most of the students at Horizon, claimed they were fine. All claimed they didn't need to be at the school. Heck He was in there shoes at one point in time and felt like there was no point to Horizon. No point other then misery and to be kept away from his friends and family. He smiled at the parent's. "Truthfully I would be worried if she didn't act this way, Kimberly will be fine here at Horizon. It's safe, and all the counselors in some way can relate. So all I need from you folks is to fill out the last bit of paperwork." He told them rather quickly. As he went into the admit room and shut the door.
He looked at the bags that were on the floor, as he lifted them up and brought them over to the table. He put them there and looked at Kimberly once more. "So Kimberly, this is Horizon, it's a safe place here to get away from the crap going on out there. " He paused allowing her to take all that in. "We have few rules at Horizon, but the most important rules are. No Sex, No Drugs, No Violence. We work as a team here, and we do everything together, including Counselors. We eat together, clean together, even chop wood, counselors too, we wouldn't ask you to do something we wouldn't do." He told her again. "You've been assigned to the Pathwinder's group, your counselors are currently busy with other admits, which is why I am here to help." He paused again. "Now Kimberly, can you tell me something about you, I know what your file says, but I want to know what makes you, you."

Kimberly rolled her eyes, it's like the counselor treated her as if she wasn't there. That was the biggest mistake anyone could ever pull. She pushed at the soles of her feet somewhat as she sat there looking at the wall. She had knives and lighters hidden all around her bag, her shoes, her clothing, in the lining. Anywhere she could put it, she did. She didn't think that the counselors would even think about checking her bag for anything. After all her parents had watched her pack. Kimberly looked at him once more as she heard his words, her parents were going to do paperwork and then leave. She at least knew that. She felt a bit lost on that part, they could have said goodbye or something.
When he came into the room and started to talk, she starred at him for a moment trying to take him on for size. She figured she could and would be able to talk herself out of everything. "I don't need to be here, my parents made a big huge ass mistake. There isn't anything wrong with me, I am fine." She tried to pass off as if it was nothing. "It was just one time, I don't really need to be here, you are wasting your breath." Then his question hit like a ton of bricks. Why was she there, what made her, her. "My parent's made me, sixteen year's ago, I've been in the military all my life, is this even freaking necessary?" She was snappy as if she felt like she had a place to be. She did in her own opinion. She had someplace to be and it wasn't at Horizon. She was about to make damn good sure of that. "Are we done? I'm planning on going home, now."

Leo knew how the kids would act if they were pressured, he knew where to trudge, and he wouldn't trudge on ground that he felt was shaking. Kimberly was obviously hiding something. Leo sighed when the parents didn't come inside to say goodbye. In fact that's what he dreaded the most. It seemed that the kids did as well.
"And why do you say you don't need Horizon, Kimberly. Your parents think you do, Can you give me a reason as to why you don't?" He sighed a little bit as he shook his head. "I think you are missing the point here Kimberly, Horizon is a safe place, its a place where you don't have to hide behind things."
Leo nodded when she opened up some, as he did this, he pulled her bag open, stuck his gloves on and went about checking her bag for contraband. "So your a military child, you don't enjoy moving around?"
Leo shook his head now. "I don't think that's going to happen Kimberly." He sighed. He tugged out a knife, and a lighter and kept looking. He knew that the girl wouldn't understand, but he wished that she would.

Kimberly was starting to squirm slightly, as the lighter and knives were coming out the bag. She was worried that he would find her entire stash, that she wouldn't be able to keep anything. That he would keep everything and she would have nothing to feel alive again. She really hoped to just keep him talking to her, it was her only choice, if he was going to miss anything. "Because I don't, I am not like the other's here, I have nothing wrong with me. " She told him now. She hoped he would understand.
"I don't have a reason, other then there isn't anything wrong. I promise them that, and I will promise you, I have nothing wrong with me, nothing happened to me, I just cut once, I think they are just over reacting." She told him now. "Nothing is going to happen again." But the truth was, she cut more then once. She had done it numerous times.
"I hated moving around, I hated it more then anyone could ever guess. But I guess I made new friends everywhere i went." She sighed. She didn't like talking, and she wanted to keep her thoughts, and past hidden.
"Fine, I will stay here, I mean it." She sighed now. "Just let me be, are you done now?" She looked at him now.
