Melina is a relative good girl. When it comes to the people she loves, she puts them before herself, and that's a fact. She honestly can't help it. It's in her nature to make sure that everyone is taken care of. Around the house she works, and works hard, even when it isn't necessary. She gets that quality from her father who is eager to please, just like Melina. Unfortunately, she's been taken advantage of a few times because of how nice she is. She tries not to let that happen, but depending on the person and what they ask of her, she can't say no. She's a people pleaser.

Melina loves to laugh, or at least she used to. When she laughs others laugh. She has that type of infectious laugh. Its above a giggle but not a full on cackle. Make a funny joke: she laughs. Trip and fall: she laughs. Laughing is natures medicine, that's the way Melina sees it. She's been like that since she was a baby. She was always giggling about something. History: Melina was born into an army family. Her father loved traveling with the army and that was how he met his wife Rosalita. They fell in love while he was stationed in Puerto Rico. They were soon married and when he was stationed in the United States, she went back with him. After Melina was born, Rosalita and Roger discussed him not re-enlisting. He still had a few years left in his tour of duty. By the time that Melina was seven, her father's tour of duty was up. It was perfect timing as her little sister was born just a year later. Her father became a firefighter while her mother continued to stay at home with the kids. All in all they were a happy family.

Melina always had plenty of friends. She was smart, pretty, and when the star quorterback of the football team and senior at her school asked her out on a date, she didn't think that life could get any better. Everything came crashing down quickly when her date whet horribly wrong. She was raped by the most popular guy in school. She didn't know what to do. She went home and told her parents. They called the police to report the rape and the football player was escorted from school the day after the allegations were made and taken to jail. The entire school turned against her, including her friends, and no one at her school believed her. They all said she was lying. She had the words slut and whore written on her locker, she was made fun of, and basically made a total outcast. The abuse at school was too much for her and she dropped all the charges. She developed depression and PTSD. Her parents sent her to Horizon hoping to get their little girl back.
