Overall personality [at least 2 paragraphs; each 6+ sent.]:
Mallory Ryder loves competition. Ever since she was a little girl, she thrived to become the best athlete, most popular girl in school, and top of her class. If anything was certain, Mallory had exceeded at all but one of these goals---which was to become the top of her class. She hated school, but her sister, however, didn't. Mallory had always been the type of girl to have a temper, but when her sister had suddenly became the 'best of the best', she couldn't help but feel jealousy and hatred toward her sister, Megan.
She was already becoming a wreck awaiting to happen, and she was only eleven. She became quite secretive and antisocial, especially toward Megan. She had decided that she wanted to get revenge, which at that time, hadn't been like her at all. She soon discovered about her sister's alcohol problem, and she wanted to tell her mom immediately---but Megan had threatened her. She had always gotten addicted quite easily, and now that Magan was drinking, she figured why not try it? That had been the biggest mistake she had ever made.

History [at least 2 paragraphs; 5+ sentences each]:
Mallory Ryder was born in London, England on August 7th, 1995. She had lived an almost perfect life until the age of seven, when she had discovered a competitive side to her. It was always a constant fight between Megan and herself, which always resulted in even more competition. Mallory never seemed content with just good; she wanted to be the best, which had always been her biggest downfall. When she had turned 12 years old, and when Megan had made it onto the cheerleading squad, she seeked revenge.
She had discovered that Megan had started drinking, and before she had told her mom, like she had planned to do, she confronted Megan and Megan had threatened her. For some strange reason, she had felt intimidated by Megan, and somewhat scared, too. She turned to drinking and cutting, rather than being honest. At the age of 14, Megan and herself had been drinking together. Megan had ended up passing out, and eventually dying. The truth had come out, and she was no longer the perfect little angel she had been.
After Megan's death, her mom had sent her to see a therapist. For a few months she stayed sober, and she was no longer cutting herself out of fear. After she had been permitted to see her therapist only once a month, she began cutting and drinking again---this time because she was guilty about the death of Megan.
Mallory was caught immediately. Her mom and dad both decided to move away from London, and to the United States so that she could seek some proper help, which was Mt Horizon. She has stayed there for two years, and is not allowed to leave until it is certain that she is no longer drinking and cutting herself.

Cass shivered as she hopped out of bed early that Saturday morning. It was only six o'clock; she never got up later than that time, especially on the weekends. After all, it was a routine, and as much as she hated it, her life would be chaotic without it. She sighed and put on her pink, fuzzy slippers and without a sound, she walked down the long, narrow hallway that eventually led to her tiny kitchen.
Cass then slowly made her way toward her refrigerator to check and see if she had any plans for that day. She had none; not that she had expected there to be. Saturday's were usually not that busy for her, but she could never find time to relax and actually enjoy her weekend. Today, she knew would be different. She would force herself to have fun, instead of telling herself that she needed to clean her house or do some other pointless chore that really didn't need to be done.
Still, she found herself staring at the color-coded calender. She had made it as pretty as she could, using different colored markers for different events. It had seemed like a good idea at first, until she had realized that she would only be using it for a year before she needed to buy a new one. Still, it was a calender that she wouldn't be embarrassed to have hanging on her fridge, which was always a plus. She smiled and walked upstairs. She got dressed in one of her favorite outfits, and after grabbing two granola bars, she left her house and wandered over toward the trails.
Once there, she began wandering aimlessly down the trail, not paying attention to anything in particular. The sun had just risen, and she checked her watch. It was eight. She shivered and wrapped her coat tightly around her.
Cass suddenly reached an open field, and she sat down. She didn't walk down the trails often, and when she did it was only on a horse. She didn't really like walking long distances, and she got her Ipod and started listening to it. She absentmindedly picked at the grass she was sitting on, wondering what was going to happen next.
