*you wore undoubtable smiles you were divorced from inside they said ! , BUT I WAS DISTURBED WHEN I HEARD IT'S NOT WHAT YOU PREFERRED Homework. While most kids loathed doing it, Melina actually didn't mind. She had always loved everything about school. She loved teachers, homework, group assignments, tests. Okay well maybe not tests, but everything else she had always enjoyed about school. Well, she no longer loved teachers. She didn't even like doing group assignments anymore because she really preferred to be alone more than anything else. The homework though...the homework was still something that she didn't mind doing. Anything that helped her stop thinking about her current situation was actually alright with her. Especially now.
Right about now, all the kids back at her old school would be getting ready for the annual Back-To-School Dance. She had gone last year and had a blast. She was both glad and upset that she wouldn't be attending it this year though. On the one side, she envied all of her old friends. Their only cares at the moment were who they were taking, what they would wear, the hairstyle they would sport. She wanted that again. She wanted to feel like a normal teenager. On the on the other hand, she knew that even if she was at home at this very moment, she still wouldn't be worrying about the same things that her old group was worrying about. She would be in her room crying because she knew there was no way she could step foot in the school dance. Everyone at school hated her and the night would no doubt be just another night of living hell.
So instead, Melina tried to take comfort in the fact that she wouldn't have to deal with the drama and hell that was her old school. And at the moment she also tried to wrap her head around her geometry homework as she sat outside at one of the picnic tables. She had always hated Math. She hummed softly to the music that was coming through her iPOD earphones. She was listening to Corinne Bailey Rae's Paper Doll. "Many words that have been spoken. Cut me out like paper dolls. Made me into something different. Something I could not dissolve. So far over don't their words slow ya," she sang with the music, completely unaware of anything that was going on around her. * it gets to the point they expected ! , AND WHO ARE YOU TO DISAPPOINT THEM ANYWAY tagged , open. outfit , outfit!words , 389. lyrics , paper dolls by corinne bailey rae. status , finished. notes , ELMOS WORLD

Cherry felt like she was getting a little sick. It wasn't the type of sick where she could just skip her classes and stay in her cabin until she got better, but the kind where she was just sick of everything around her...and she couldn't do anything about it. All she wanted to do was to curl up on her bed and bury her face into her pillow, instead of sucking it up and go through the day.
She couldn't pay any attention in her classes. All she did was try to keep from screaming and running out the door in the middle of the lesson. She knew why she was here at Mt. Horizon, she needed help. Cherry was fully aware that she was a lost cause, but the counselors were insistent anyways. She was just tired of it. Maybe that was why, after her class was over, she was the first one out and ran/sprinted to the grounds. Cherry couldn't stand the cooped up room. She needed air and space to roam.
Immediately, she propped herself onto a picnic table, not noticing anyone else there, and let her school books drop from her hands and onto the table. They all made a large noise, and Cherry cringed. "Sorry about that," She apologized quickly, and then noticed the other girl there was listening to her ipod. Maybe she didn't hear the noise? She probably did. It was loud, after all, and unless this girl had her music blasted all the way up, she would've hear it. "I shouldn't have been so careless and disruptful and..." Cherry trailed off. What if it looked like she was talking to herself?

*you wore undoubtable smiles you were divorced from inside they said ! , BUT I WAS DISTURBED WHEN I HEARD IT'S NOT WHAT YOU PREFERRED Melina was so wrapped up in the music coming from her earphones, that she barely noticed the other girl as she approached. It was always like that whenever Melina was listening to music. She always zoned out so much that she didn't notice anything going on around her. It wasn't the very best habit, but sometimes it helped her deal with any problems that she may have at the time. That combined with how hard she was trying to concentrate on the math work at hand, well it didn't make her the most observant person in the world.
She was jolted out of her own world when she heard the books slam. It nearly caused her to jump out of her skin. Her geometry book even shook a little bit. She looked up and saw the girl in front of her. Her lips were moving. She was saying something. Maybe an apology? Melina was only slightly skilled at reading lips. She took her earphones out to hear the tail end of what the girl was saying. Yep, it was definitely an apology. She tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "It's okay. It was an accident really. I understand." * it gets to the point they expected ! , AND WHO ARE YOU TO DISAPPOINT THEM ANYWAY tagged , cherry. outfit , outfit!words , 389. lyrics , paper dolls by corinne bailey rae. status , finished. notes , ELMOS WORLD

Cherry grabbed the books she dropped on her desk, this time more gentle, and slowly stacked them. She nodded at the other girl, probably older than her and in a different group, and stifled a yawn. Cherry was, honestly, just exhausted and wouldn't mind sleeping for a few hours...days...or months. Until now, she never wasted time on school. Maybe, occasionally, she would read before Mt. Horizon, but only to distract herself. Now her life was filled with studying, chores, and 'getting better' which was what her grandmother liked to say. Not that she knew Cherry didn't care.
"To be honest, it wasn't really an accident," Cherry said. "But it wasn't like I was purposely aiming to bug you. I just wasn't aware anyone else was here." Okay, so maybe Cherry was rambling a bit. Whatever. "Or aware that it would make so much noise. It's just these books are heavy and--" She sighed. Now she was talking too much and too fast. "Well, you get the picture." She shrugged. Cherry hated it when she ended up talking for far too long. Not that she cared too much. She'll either go on and on, or barely say anything at all.

*you wore undoubtable smiles you were divorced from inside they said ! , BUT I WAS DISTURBED WHEN I HEARD IT'S NOT WHAT YOU PREFERRED Oh. Melina blushing sheepishly. Well it may not have been an accident, but she was sure the girl didn't mean to disturb her. Of course Melina was always trying to see the best in people. That was something her mother said was her best quality. For Melina it had gotten her in trouble at her old school, at least when it came to the whole ordeal. The girl seemed to be rambling. Melina couldn't help but smile. She did that as well, though she usually did it when she was nervous about something, which was usually all the time these days.
"I get it. Like I said before, it's no problem really. Sometimes the unexpected happens. Really I have to thank you. You got me out of my own head before I started belting out the lyrics to this Corinne Bailey Rae song." It had been so long since she'd laughed and yet during the short weeks she'd been at Horizon she'd laughed more than she had in the past few months. It wasn't a lot of laughing mind you, but still, it was something. Maybe it meant she was making progress. Maybe it was just the Anti-Depression meds. * it gets to the point they expected ! , AND WHO ARE YOU TO DISAPPOINT THEM ANYWAY tagged , cherry. outfit , outfit!words , . lyrics , paper dolls by corinne bailey rae. status , finished. notes , ELMOS WORLD
