Kat was adopted by a caucasian family when she was six. She never knew her real parents. Always a good athlete and student. She loved her parents and younger sister Ellie, but always felt a bit out of place because she was black and they were white. Feeling grew as she got older. One day, during a swimming competition between her and her sister in the lake behind their house, her sister began to drown. Kat was unable to save her. Fell into a deep depression and began acting out in school and at home. Parents sent her to Horizon hoping it would help. In the past three years, Kat has gotten back to her old self, but she still blames herself for her sister's death and believes her parents do as well. Extremely helpful and caring person.


EZRA LEWIS FRIEDKIN
Penn Badgley+ Sixteen + Junior + Crushing on Daisy + Been at Horizon for 1 1/2 Years
Ezra was adopted by his parents the day he was born. His parents hoped that adopting him would solve their marital problems. It did not. A gruesome divorce ensued when Ezra hit his pre-teen years and Ezra was put in the middle of the battle. Ezra became an extreme people pleaser because of this. The stress soon became too much for Ezra and he turned to drugs for comfort. He overdosed a total of two times. Finally, when he almost overdosed on Ketamine, his parents decided to send him to Horizon. He's known as the pharmacist among his peers because he can identify any and every drug and knows to to mix and locate them. A little insecure and nerdy, but an all around good guy. Basically best friends with Daisy.


SHELBY ALEXANDRIA MERRICK
Megan Fox + Sixteen + Junior + Dating Scott+ Been at Horizon for 10 months
Family never had a lot of money. Shelby's parents got divorced when she was young. She hasn't even seen her father since the divorce became final. Her mother remarried to her stepfather, Walt Collins. When she was eleven, her stepfather began molesting her. She never told anyone because he promised that if she kept it a secret, he would never touch her little sister Jess. At fourteen, she began running away in order to get away from him. Each time, her mother or the police tracked her down and brought her back home. The last time she ran away, she lived on the streets for almost a year. She slept under the Santa Monica Pier for two weeks, stole, and begged on the streets. She began turning tricks to make money to survive. She got mixed up in drugs as well and watched her best friend OD on cocaine. Her mother finally found her and sent her off to Horizon. Came clean about her stepfather a month ago, when she was forced to go home and take care of him. She comes off as a bitch and doesn't trust easily. Not known for showing any emotion except sarcasm and anger most days. Ashamed of what she did on the streets. Despite herself she's become best friends with Daisy. Really loves Scott.


AUGUSTO -------- CICEROS
Taylor Lautner + Fifteen + Sophomore + Dating Juliette + Been at Horizon for 5 Months
Auggie, which is what he prefers to go by, was sent to Horizon as an alternative to juvie. He grew up in a family with five kids and though they did the best they could, they could not keep all their kids out of trouble. Thanks to his older brother, Auggie got mixed up in a gang. He was the tagger (someone who graffitied walls). He eventually got cuaght and sent to Horizon. At Horizon, they discovered that he's not mentally challenged, as his old teachers thought he was. In actuality, Auggie is dyslexic. While Auggie does have some anger issues he is trying to control them. He's a good kid, just rough around the edges.


DAISY ELIZABETH LIPENOWSKI
Kaya Scoldelario + Sixteen + Junior + Single + Been at Horizon for 3 Months
When Daisy first got to Horizon, she was decked out head to toe in black with white face powder, black make-up, and fangs and was going by Daisy Graves. She was goth and she made sure to take it to the extreme. This was her mask. She grew up with verbally and emotionally abusive alcoholic parents. When her dad's abuse turned physical, she picked up his 7 iron golf club and beat him with it. She once even said, the only thing that kept her from killing him, was that she didn't think she could make herself cry for the police. She was immediately sent off to Horizon. Her mother recently died in a drunk driving accident. She went home with Shelby and Sophie for the funeral and confronted both her mother and father. She realized she didn't have to hide behind her Daisy Graves mask anymore. She's into tarot cards and often gives readings for the group. She's insightful and brutally honest with a rather morbid and sarcastic sense of humor.


SCOTT ------- BARRINGER
Nicholas Hoult + Sixteen + Junior + Dating Shelby + Been at Horizon for 3 Months
Scott had always been a gifted athelete. He was one of the top reciever's in the nation until he got kicked off the football team. What caused this change? Scott's parents got divorced when he was thirteen years old. His dad remarried to a woman named Elaine when he was fourteen. Not too long after the wedding, his stepmother seduced him. His dad was never home so his stepmother was all he had. He thought he was in love with her until the first night that he said no and she wouldn't stop. She would come into his room every night even though it was obvious that Scott didn't want to sleep with her. She convinced him that no one would believe if he told, so he turned to drugs. He was always high. It was how he coped. His father, having no other option, had him hauled off to Horizon. The only person he's told about his stepmother is Shelby and Peter. They had Child Protective Services look into it, however, the case was dropped when his stepmother handed over love letters that he had sent her. His father doesn't believe him. He's got a tough shell and definitely has anger issues and shuts off his feelings. Used to date Juliette. Has some trouble dealing with Shelby's past so they fight about it often.


JULIETTE -------- WAYBOURNE
Jessica Sula + Fifteen + Sophomore + Dating Auggie + Been at Horizon for 1 Year
Jules came from a very well off home. Her mother has been married a total of four times in the past nine years. Her mother was always a perfectionist and wanted Jules to be perfect, just as she did with her other children. Juliette has lived in four different households in with a total of eight siblings. All of them have been perfect and successful. Jules always felt inferior. To cope, she turned to bulimia and cutting herslf. She has always wanted her mothers love and approval. Finally, when her real father found out about what she was doing to herself, he demanded she was sent to Horizon. That essentially sealed how her mother felt about her. Though her mother still has full custody, she's the one causing Jules all her pain. Juliette is naive and she essentially means well, but it is obvious that she is very spoiled. She also doesn't handle rejection well. She dated Scott briefly when he first go to the school and is still a bit jealous of his relationship with Shelby.

KARIANNE GENESIS WOODWARD
Emma Roberts + Fifteen + Sophomore + Single + Been at Horizon for 8 Months
Karianne was raised in a very religious family. They attended church about four out of seven days a week. Karianne was in the choir, on the usher board, church youth group, and went to bible study. She was a major part of the abstinence group as well. Then at fourteen she was raped by her mom's boyfriend. She became pregnant and was forced to tell her mother. Her mother blamed Karianne for what happened saying she brought it on herself by being to provactive and seducing him. She forced Karianne to get an abortion, something their faith always told them was wrong. Karianne began cutting herself and developed anxiety disorder. One day she slit her wrists, hitting major veins, and almost dying, which was essentially her goal. Her sister found her and they rushed her to the hospital. She was sent to Horizon soon after. Still has panic attacks occassionally. Really a sweet girl but holds extreme guilt from her abortion.


TERRENCE -------- BAILEY
Alex Pettyfer+ Eighteen + Senior + Dating Charity St. Hilare but Crushing on Heaven St. Hilare + Been at Horizon for 1 Year
Terrence is your typical spoiled rich kid. All of his rebellion it seems is just because he has the money to do so. He sold prescription pill to just about every kid in his school who wanted them. His family's money has always been able to get him out of any trouble that he may have gotten into. When a school narc caught him selling drugs on camera, that was one time he couldn't use his money to buy his way out. The judge decided to be lenient and send him to Horizon. He's arrogant and self-centered, though he has a soft side. No one has yet to find that side of him though.


CHARITY ------- ST. HILAIRE
Hilary Duff [Brunette] + Sixteen + Junior + Dating Terrence + Been at Horizon for 11 months
Charity and her twin sister Heaven always took care of each other. They had not choice but to. Their father left when they were little and their mother has diagnosed with severe depression and bipolar disorder. She had her good days and her extemely bad days. Over a year and a half ago when she and her sister had just come home from school, they pulled up to see her hanging from the rafters. She had committed suicide right in the front of their house. She fllipped out and went a little crazy. She and her sister were sent to live with their Aunt and Uncle since their father refused to take them. She began partying and went into a total state of denial when it came to her mother. She refused to even talk about her. Began drinking all the time and hooking up with random guys. She's now a bit of an alcoholic. She tries to be nonchalant about everything to hide her pain.


AZALEA RAE FOSTER
Cassie Steele + Seventeen + Senior + Single + Been at Horizon for 2 Years
Azalea was raised by her sister. Their dad died and their mother ran away to Vegas becuase she couldn't handle being a mother. Her sister is a full ten years older than her. Azalea definitely has some serious abandonment issues which she camouflages with her anger issues. She's been court ordered to enter anger management since was thirteen. When she was fifteen years old she came out of the closet as a lesbian. That same year she beat a kid within an inch of his life for calling her a dyke. The court told her it was either Juvie or Horizon and so her sister sent her to Horizon.


KANE ------- LANGLEY
Chris Brown + Seventeen + Senior + Crushing on Jacqueline + Been at Horizon for 6 Months
Kane grew up in a single parent home. His dad ran out on his mom before he was born. His mom struggled to make enough money to support him and his younger sister. When he was thirteen years old he became part of a gang and started selling drugs. It was the only way he could think of to help out his family. He never told his mom where he was getting the money from because he didn't want her to feel ashamed of him. She never wanted him to get involved with the street life. He's was caught twice before he got sent to Horizon. If he gets one more strike then the judge told he he'll be going to juvie. A pretty good guy. Doesn't do too well with authority.

Issac grew up on a farm and was home schooled. His father expected him to help out on the farm with the chores. He always thought that Issac's mother babied him too much. One day, Issac's father threw out his back. That left Issac to take care of the farm. His father was always criticizing him, never giving him any words of encouragement or good faith. It became too much Issac and he began sneaking his father's pain killers. When work started no getting done on the farm and the pills started disappearing, his parents figured out what was going on. His father just felt that the boy needed to work harder, however, his mother thought it would be best for him to go to Horizon. Close friends with Malcolm Linards, who he knew before Horizon. Hard worker and extremely sweet.


MELINA LYNETTE CAVERS
Selena Gomez + Fifteen + Sophomore + Single + Been at Horizon for 3 Weeks
Melina always had plenty of friends. She was smart, pretty, and when the star quorterback of the football team and senior at her school asked her out on a date, she didn't think that life could get any better. Everything came crashing down quickly when her date when horribly wrong. She was raped by the most popular guy in school. She didn't know what to do. She went home and told her parents. They called the police to report the rape and the football player was escorted from school the day after the allegations were made and taken to jail. The entire school turned against her, including her friends, and no one at her school believed her. They all said she was lying. She had the words slut and whore written on her locker, she was made fun of, and basically made a total outcast. The abuse at school was too much for her and she dropped all the charges. She developed depression and PTSD. Her parents sent her to Horizon hoping to get their little girl back. Amazing singer and very artistic. Doesn't talk much.


TIFFANY ------- KENT
Lucy Hale + Sixteen + Junior + Crushing on Gavers Lincoln + Been at Horizon for 6 Weeks
Melina was the captain of the cheerleading team at her high school. He was on the soccer team and lacrosse team. What she didn't know was that he was into drugs. He pressured her to try cocaine. She didn't want to at first, but she also didn't want him to break up with her. She tried it and hated the way it made her feel. She though after that it would be over. Once she did it once, he expected her to do it with him all the time. Then he gradually introduced her to acid. It got to the point where she was so high all the time that she got kicked off the cheerleading team. Her friends were the first to notice the change in her behavior. They staged an intervention with her parents and she was sent to Horizon. She can definitely be a bitch. Resents being sent to Horizon because she doesn't think she has a problem.


CALVIN -------- MERCER

Calvin had always been a happy and goofy kid. He thought his family was the perfect family and that his life was just great. Then his parents revealed that they were getting a divorced. They tried to tell him that it was not his fault, but he still blamed himself. During the divorce, which his parents tried to do civillaly, Calvin began showing signs of depression. His parents recognized it right away because his father also had depression, as did many people in his family. They decided it would be best for him to go to Horizon to get help with his condition.

Joanna Levesque aka JoJo+ Sixteen + Junior + Single + Been at Horizon for 2 Years
Jacqueline was born to a causian mother and a black father. She never really felt like she fit in with either side of her family. She never really talked to her mother's side as they never really accepted the fact that her mother had married a black man. Her father's side of the family always teased her for her extra light skin and straight hair. As a result, she always kept herself isolated from everyone else. She used to cry all of the time and then one day, she just stopped feeling any and everything. She started using cigarettes and car lighters to burn herself just so that she could feel anything, even if it was pain. Still keeps to herself, but she's come out of her shell a lot since she's been at Horizon.


TRAVIS -------- WILSON
Tristan Wilds+ Seventeen + Senior + Single + Been at Horizon for 5 Months
Travis grew up in an abusive household. His mom was a prostitute and his father was her pimp. His father abused him mother sexually, physically, emotionally, and verbally. He didn't care about anyone but himself. He extended the physical abuse to Travis. He found any and every excuse to hit him. He never made Travis feel like he was worthy of better. When Travis was fifteen, he found his father beating his mother. Something inside of Travis snapped and he began beating up his father. He grabbed his father's gun and shot his father. He didn't kill him, it only wounded the man. Travis got sent to juvie. After almost two years in juvie the judge took pity on him. Travis had been on good behavior while in juvie and the judge agreed, after some pleading on the part of his mother and case worker, to send him to Horizon. The time in juvie definitely hardened Travis a bit, but he was always a bit distant and defensive. He hates to see women be disrespected.


HEAVEN DANIELLE ST. HILAIRE

Basketball was Gavers life. He'd been playing for as long as he could remember. Scouts have been looking at him for college basketball ever since he was a freshman in high school. Then during his junior year, he tore his ACL. He had to have surgery, however, his game would never be the same. The injury essentially ended his basketball career, or so the doctors told him. He was put on pain medication which his soon began abusing. His other vice was alcohol. He drank a lot. It helped with the pain killers to well...numb the pain. Then one day, Gavers made the decision to drive drunk. He hit a six year old. The boy ended up in a coma. that was when Gavers was sent to Horizon. Feels incredibly guilty about what he did.


JOHNATHAN -------- STEPHENS
William Moseley + Fifteen + Sophomore + Single + Been at Horizon for 2 Months
Two years ago, Johnathan was in love with soccer. That love died when he was molested by his soccer coach. It happened over and over again. That started a downward spiral for him. He finally told his parents and the soccer coach was brought up on charges for molestation as well as child pornagraphy. He was never found guilty of molestation though because John could not bring himself to stand against his abuser in court. He was, however, found guilty of child pornagraphy. His sentence was rather light and the judge said after a rew years the man would be eligible for parole. John is now confused about his sexuality. He believes he is gay. He stays to himself a lot. He attempted suicide a total of three times before finally being sent to Horizon.

JESSICA LYNN MERRICK
Victoria Justice + Fourteen + Freshman + Hooking up with Hunter Borroughs + Been at Horizon for 6 Weeks
The only person Jess has really relied on and talked to is her sister Shelby. She always looked up to Shelby. That was the only person who ever really took care of her. Jessica's life took a turn for the worse when her sister started running away. She thought maybe she had done something wrong when her sister began to disappear. And then it started. Walt began molesting her when she was twelve. She lived in fear of the moments when he would come into her room. She told no one, as there was no one for her to tell since her sister was not there. Two years later, when Walt had his heart attack, her sister did come back to take care of him and she revealed to Shelby what Walt was doing to her. When Shelby revealed he had done the same to her, Jess flipped. How could her sister leave her with that monster. Shelby called the police and she and Jess revealed what Walt had done. Once Shelby left again, life at home was still unbearable so she ran away. She lived on the streets for a few days, almost resorting to having sex for money like her sister. She didn't go through with it though and ran to Horizon. She blames both her mom and sister for what happened to her and is a bit resentful towards Shelby.


DAMIAN CHRISTOPHER MILES
Rupert Grint + Seventeen + Senior + Single + Been at Horizon for 5 Weeks
Damian always hated his parents. They didn't really care much about him and they criticized him all the time. Anything he could do to get out of the house, he did it. He always loved extreme things and was really into skateboarding and motocross. His family was poor, since his mother was an alcoholic and his father could never keep a job for more than a couple months. Damian realized he had to figure out a way to make quick money. He began gambling, betting on games here and there. Won in the very beginning. Once he started losing he got mixed in with the wrong people and pretty soon he was in debt. Became addicted to gambling and started stealing to support his habit. Damian's a real dare devil and risk taker.


VAUGHN ------- STEWART
Katerina Graham + Eighteen + Senior + Single + Been at Horizon for 2 Weeks
Vaughn's extremely spoiled. Growing up, her mother always threw money at her to keep her happy. Her father found different ways to spoil her, to say the least. Her father began molesting her when she was just nine years old. She thought it was just daddy's way of showing how much he loved her. She's had 4 stepfathers since then and she's had sex with three of them. When she made advances towards the fourth, he informed her mother. Her mother was devastated, and sent her to a therapist. She contemplated sending her to live with her father, until the abuse he put her through was revealed. Vaughn is a sociopath in the making, that is if someone does not step in, or so the therapist told her mother. She wants to feel loved, which is why she has a daddy complex. She takes her anger out on the world, believing that the world owes her everything because of what her father did to her, and she owes the world nothing. Her therapist recommended sending her to Horizon.


MALCOLM -------- LINARDS
Justin Beiber + Fourteen + Freshman + Single + Been at Horizon for 6 Weeks
Malcolm's method of suicide? He decided to ingest a slew of household cleaning products. Why? He's confused. Actually, everyone is. Nothing at home seems to give any clue as to why Malcolm tried to commit suicide. His parents are still happily married. He has no problems with siblings, as he is an only child. He has friends and is very gifted in both sports and academics. So what could make this golden boy, whose life seems just about perfect. That is what the people at Horizon and his parents want to know. The only question is, will Malcolm eventually come clean and tell them?

TRYSTAN -------- PAIGE
Anna Sophia Robb + Fifteen + Sophomore + Single + Been at Horizon for 7 1/2 months
Trystan has been doing gymnastics since she was first able to walk. Her parents thought that it was just something fun for their little baby girl to do. They had no idea that she would fall completely in love with it and want to dedicate her life to it. However, that type of dedication requires some sacrifices. She had to be home schooled and train constantly. She also had to watch her weight and her diet. The skinnier she was, the more she could try different tricks with different difficulty level. As her coach once told her, fat people don't make it in gymnastics because they don't get as much height or speed. And so began the pressures for Trystan to stay at a low weight. That pressure cause her to become obsessed with her weight, leading to her developing anorexia. She was doing a good job hiding it until she collapsed during her routine. She was ninety-five pounds when that happened. Her coaches and family tried to help her, but she kept wasting away. Her lowest weight on record is eighty-seven pounds, which was when she was sent to Horizon. She has slowly gained a bit of the weight back, however she is still at a low weight and is having a hard time getting over the mental part of her illness.


CHERRY AVA MOMSEN
Dakota Fanning+ Fourteen + Freshman + Single + Been at Horizon for 4 Months
Cherry had a rough childhood to say the least. From day one it seemed the world was against her. She was born addicted to heroin thanks to her junkie of a mother. To add to that, her mother dumped her into a trash can wrapped in a dirty rag. Thankfully, someone walking past heard the cries of the baby and took the baby to the hospital. The police were called and her mother was tracked down. Cherry was released into the custody of her grandparents who insisted that her mother Melanie take care of her. Melanie was always too high to take care of her daughter, however, and spent her time more concerned with finding money to get high than finding money to take care of her daughter. Cherry's grandparents tried to help out as much as they could. When she was twelve, Cherry watched her mother overdose. Though she did not die, Cherry's grandparents sent her mother to a rehab center and took full custody of Cherry. She developed PTSD at thirteen, reliving the night of the overdose constantly. Resents her mother for her addiction and her grandparents for not taking action sooner.


HUNTER ------- BORROUGHS
Columbus Short + Eighteen + Senior + Hooking Up with Jessica Merrick + Been at Horizon for 3 years
Hunter got involved with a gang because of his family. It was somewhat a family legacy. It was in his blood, or so his brothers and father always told him. His mother was not to pleased out these circumstances, especially since she had been forced to bury two sons and two others were in prison. She wanted a different path for her youngest son so she sent him to live with his older sister. That couldn't stop things from taking their course. Hunter, wanting to make his father proud, still kept up with is gang activities. He was stabbed during a gang fight, that was eventually broken up by the police. His sister talked to their parents and the police and they agreed that Hunter would go to Horizon.


TRAVIS ------- CLIFFS
Alexander Gaskarth + Eighteen + Senior + Crushing on Daisy Lipenowski + Been at Horizon for 2 Months
Travis has a slight problem and that problem is called fire. He's always been quite fond of it in a sort of obsessive way. That was one of the main reasons he started smoking. It really had nothing to do with his need or attraction to nicotine, but more to do with his love of lighting things on fire and watching them burn. This obsession became a definitely problem when he took it upon himself to set fire to a house that was under construction not too far from where he went to school. He did not get caught and the thought of getting away with the arson as well as watching something so big burn started a chain reaction. He loved the rush. So he set fire to a few more under construction houses. He was finally caught and the judge agreed to send him to Horizon instead of jail. He loves to have fun and is always cracking jokes. He also has a weird obsession with glitter.

Lia's first serious boyfriend was the love of her life. He meant everything to her and nothing else mattered once he entered her life. She stopped hanging out with her friends and spent all her time with his. As long as he was around, everything seemed perfect. She lost her virginity to him, thinking that they would be together forever. Not long after the first time they had sex, her boyfriend dumped her. She was devastated. Her entire world had been turned upside down. Her brother, Liam, was concerned about her behavior, but her parents assured him it was nothing too serious and that she would soon get over it. Lia had other ideas. All she wanted was for the pain to end. She was determined to make it happen. She climbed into her car and called her parents, saying she just wanted to die and she had nothing else to live for. Before her parents could convince her other wise, she hung up the phone and drove for about an hour ignoring her ringing phone. Finally, she drove her car into a tree not too far from her home. Witnesses called the police and an ambulance came to take her to the hospital. It was then that her parents decided she was going to be sent to Horizon, where her brother worked.

Khalia was brought up in a strict Muslim household. When she revealed, rather recently, that she was confused about her sexuality her family flipped. She told them she was certain she was bisexual. Her mother cried and her father kept repeating that she was shaming them. The only reason she told them was because a friend of the family caught her being a little more than friendly with a girl while standing at the bus stop. Her parents sent her away to a place that claimed to cure feelings of homosexuality. She hated everything about the place and so Khalia began suppressing her feelings. She just wanted to go back home so she claimed that she was straight once again. Once she got home, she tried to keep her feelings in check and began abusing Oxycontin and Xanax that she bought from the drug dealer at her school.

Paul's parents always demanded perfection when it came to school. They expected him to grow up and become just as successful as they had. They didn't except any type of excuses for anything. He never missed a day of school in his life, even when he was sick. He was always a straight A student, however, the pressures began getting to him. When Paul got his first failing grade in his life in his AP Psych class, he couldn't bring himself to tell his parents. When he finally got home, he avoided his parents question about his grade at all costs. He took a gun to school, intending to go into the bathroom and kill himself. A student walked in before he pulled the trigger and brought the guidance counselor who suggested he attend Horizon. His parents didn't approve, however, once the courts became involved they didn't really have a choice.

Peter is a recovering alcoholic, cocaine, and heroin addict. He turned to alcohol and drugs when the pressures of his Wall Street Job became too much at the age of twenty-eight. His marriage ended and he overdosed, ending up in rehab only to begin using again once he got out. His addiction caused him to end up on the street. He met Frank, who was the founder of Horizon, and Frank invited him to Horizon to help him get clean. Peter's been clean for seven years now and became a counselor at Horizon. When the bank threatened to foreclose on Horizon, Peter took the money he inherited from his father to buy the school from Frank. Frank retired, leaving Peter in charge. Every now and then he goes to New York, where he lived and was raised, to visit his ex-wife and his father's grave. He spends his free time hiking and rock climbing.


SOPHIE MARIE BECKER
Rachel McAdams+ Thirty-Four + Cliffhanger Counselor + Engaged to Peter Scarbrow + Been at Horizon for 3 Months
Sophie's life wasn't really bad. Her parents got divorced when she was young. She didn't believe that love existed. How could it when her parents couldn't even stay together. As a result, Sophie is quite afraid of commitment in any sense. As soon as she was old enough, she began to travel all around the world, never staying in one place for too long. She met Peter in the hospital when he was brought in after an overdose. They became close friends. They lost touch when Peter went to Horizon, but they found each other once again. When Peter asked her to stay at Horizon, both for him and to help with the students, she was reluctant at first, but eventually agreed. Her relationship with Peter began to suffer when she found out that she had endometriosis and was infertile. When she finally told Peter, he revealed that it didn't matter to him and they became engaged.


HANNAH --------- LONDON
Sophia Bush+ Thirty-Three + Vice Administrator, Pathwinders Counselor + Single + Been at Horizon for 5 Years
Hannah always loved working with children. She worked as a middle school teacher for awhile before deciding that working with troubled teens was her calling. She and her husband packed up everything and moved from the city to the country so that she could work at Horizon. Though she loved her work, her marriage did suffer. She turned to Peter for comfort, though their relationship never went any farther than flirting and a few stolen kisses. She and her husband decided it was best to get a divorce. When a student committed suicide on Hannah's watch, she began to question her abilities. She talked to her husband and she decided they should five their marriage another try. The decision meant quitting her job at Horizon. After about two months, Hannah and her husband decided to finalize their divorce. She returned to Horizon. Hannah was the counselor for the cliffhangers, before she quit her job. Once she got back, she decided to become the counselor for the Pathwinders since Sophie had taken the Cliffhangers in her absence. Unknown to Peter and Sophie, Hannah still has feelings for Peter.


LIAM -------- WALKER
Ian Somerhaulder + Twenty-Seven + 11th and 12th Grade English Teacher + Single + Been at Horizon for 3 1/2 Years
Liam was a bit of a trouble maker when he was a teenager. He did his fair share of skipping class and drugs. When he realized he was breaking his parents heart, he got clean and got his act together. He hasn't totally lost his bad boy personality, but he's using his talents and experiences to help the kids at Horizon. His sister is the most important person in his life. When he noticed the change in her behavior after being dumped by her boyfriend, he suggested she be sent to Horizon where she could work through her problems and so he could keep an eye on her. His parents reassured him it wasn't to serious. When he heard about her suicide attempt, he was glad that his parents decided to send her to Horizon.


DAMON -------- WHITE
Brian White + Thirty + Trackers Counselor + Married to Katrina Claiborne-White + 3 Years
Gang fights? Check. Dealing Drugs? Check. High school drop-out? check. Okay so Damon didn't actually make a checklist with all those things on it, but if he had, he would have met all his goals. He did a stint in juvie when he was only fifteen and even got sent to prison when he was twenty-one. While he was in prison, he met a guy by the name of Forrester Jinks. He had been in there most of his life and made it his mission to teach the young guys everything he had learned in life. Even though he would never get out of prison, he didn't want others to end up like that if they didn't have to. Damon learned a lot from Forrester and when he got out of prison, he turned his life around. He studied and got his GED, eventually going to college as well. That's where he met his wife Katrina Claiborne-White. When they graduated they both decided to work at Horizon.


KATRINA --------- CLAIBORNE-WHITE
Kerry Washington + Thirty + Guidance Counselor + Married to Damon White + Been at Horizon for 3 Years
Katrina has come a long way from her days on the street. She struggled from the time she was born. Her mother barely had enough money to take care of her and her brother. When her mother died, it was up to her to find a way to take care of her brother and herself. They lived on the street, eating whatever food they could and sleeping wherever they could. Sometimes they stayed in shelters or in alleys. She made sure her brother go to school everyday. She, herself took a job waitressing so she could make money. It wasn't much, but it helped them do better than they were. She found them a cheap apartment and she got a few more jobs on top of her waitressing one. She got her high school diploma and even was able to get a scholarship to college. She met her husband Damon White there and after they graduated they started working at Horizon. Her brother is doing fine and well and is in college.


CANDACE -------- BYRD
Odette Yustman+ Twenty-Two + Art Teacher + Crushing on Leo McKnight + Been at Horizon for 5 Months
Candace didn't exactly attend Horizon. She didn't really need to. She didn't have abusive parents or any emotional issues or body issues. Her younger sister was born autistic. Art was always something that Candace and her sister bonded over. Where some autistic kids benefit from horse therapy, her sister benefited from artistic therapy. That gave Candace the idea to go into teaching art as a profession. She decided she wanted to work with both autistic and troubled kids and teens. She worked with autistic kids for a year before deciding to come to Horizon. She's a bit overeager and naive. She definitely has a lot to learn when it comes to dealing with troubled teens. Sophie even warned her that with her happy-go-lucky, rainbows and sunshine attitude, the kids just may chew her up and spit her out. Will she be able to deal and survive? No one is quite sure yet. Not to mention, how will her feelings for Leo McKnight come into play since he's currently in a committed relationship. Secretly, Candace wonders what he sees in Bliss. She, for one, doesn't quite understand Bliss, her weird sense of humor, or her sarcastic, slightly negative and quirky attitude.


LEO RONALD MCKNIGHT

Leo was a definite bad ass growing up. He was always getting into fights and even has a rap sheet for assault and breaking and entering. He ran with a bad crowd because he didn't really have anything better to do. His parents finally sent him to Horizon when they got sick of his bad attitude and even worse actions. It took Cam awhile, but he finally began to get his act together thanks to Peter. Instead of taking all of his anger out on other people, he focused more on rock climbing and boxing. After he graduated, Peter invited him back to be a counselor. Leo said no. He wanted to see a bit of the world first. He became a amateur boxer. Finally, two years ago, he took Peter up on his offer. Leo is a bit of a jackass which is a good thing since whatever the students give him attitude wise, he can just give them right back. He's a smartass, too. Bliss isn't really the usual girl he goes for, which is why he's so attracted to her and likes her so much. She's not his typical bimbo or a girl that will believe everything he tells her. She calls him on his bullshit and he loves that about her.


BLISS --------- PINKETT

Bliss didn't always live up to her name. She doesn't even quite live up to it now. Bliss grew up the daughter of an alcoholic and Xanax addicted mother and a workaholic physically and verbally abusive father. As a result, Bliss became less than blissful and became emotionally unattached. Nothing really mattered to her and she was often found sleeping at others people's houses so she wouldn't have to go home and deal with her parents. When she was at home, she and her parents fought constantly, usually ending in her father hitting her in some form. Her mother usually passed out in her room to drunk or high to care. When her father wasn't home, it fell on her to take care of her mother. The stress of it all caused her to burn herself. When she got to Horizon, Peter and the old headmaster, Frank, helped her through her problems. Horizon was the first place she ever felt mattered to her. After she graduated and went to college, she made the decision to come to Horizon as a counselor. She met Leo when she was a student at Horizon, however, she couldn't stand him them. Now they're dating...go figure. She's sarcastic and has a slightly morbid since of humor, but it suits her. She can come off as a bitch sometimes, but she's not on really. Most of the time at least.
