Meet Shelby A L E X A N D R I A Merrick
in case you didn't know, its all about this sixteen year old american&&greek&&albanian girl. or its never about her. i guess it depends on who you ask. she was never the center of attention, yet in some ways she was. she was definitely never the homecoming queen or cheerleader type. never apart of the prep scene. ask the people at her old school and she was well, just a step above trailer trash. she accepted that because she really didn't give a damn what the people she went to school with thought. she's a fan of tattoos and piercings. she has a quote tattooed on her left side along her rib cage and a paraphrasing of a line from her favorite shakespearean play, king lear tattooed on her right shoulder blade. she's had a hard life, between being molested by her stepfather, to living on the streets, to selling her body for money, shelby has learned that nothing in life comes without a price. she's been at horizon for almost a year and she's starting to make some breakthroughs. will her wall ever completely go down? only time will tell.

F R I E N D S. shelby doesn't really consider too many people close friends. she is more likely to have acquaintances and people that she tolerates. people tend to annoy her and she doesn't trust people that easily. she has managed to gain a few friends since being at horizon, namely scott barringer and daisy lipenowski. those are definitely the closest friends she has here and they know things about her that no one else does, like how she had sex for money when she lived on the streets. other than that, she has managed to get close to the other cliffhangers. juliet is a bit iffy and still tends to annoy her, but they're close enough. just don't expect them to go trading secrets anytime soon. as far as the other students, people who can appreciate her sarcasm and handle her bitchiness could fall somewhere in the friend category. people who like to party could fall here too. umm...despite the fact that she can be bitchy, she doesn't really like girls who are overly bitchy or guys who are arrogant assholes. unless your really lucky. preppy, overly happy, daddy buys me everything i could ever want people....yeah you wouldn't be here.

E N E M I E S. everyone needs them. and shelby will definitely have them. she's bound to rub people the wrong way with her whole "eff you cause i don't care what you think and i'll say what i want" attitude or her naturally sarcastic nature. no concrete specific enemy ideas yet except one:: if you're a "bubblegum, superficial, bimbo, overly happy, daddy buys me everything i could ever want" type of person, she's not going to be able to stand you. she hates people like that because they think the world revolves around them and they're quick to judge people like her. not all of her enemies will be hardcore. some may just be friendly rivals or minor annoyances [like juliet waybourne], some will be the kind of people who just piss her off on a regular basis [like serious bitches and arrogant assholes]. if you mess with her friends or family, you're definitely going to be in this category.you can't be liked by everyone. besides, sometimes being hated is so much more fun. just be careful. she's anything but weak and she's always ready for a good fight.

L O V E. shelby never really believe in love. she's never really seen it. her parents got divorced when she was young. he mom, who was biologically conditioned to love her, always chose her stepfather over her up until recently. her stepfather claimed to love her, but he molested her repeatedly. no one has ever really loved shelby. everything was always about sex with her. that's how she survived on the streets. that's all any guy ever seemed to want from her, even some of the ones at horizon. scott was really the first and only guy she ever cared about. she loves him, though she has yet to tell him. their relationship is rocky, what with him just finding out about what she did on the street for money. she hasn't fully let her guard down with him yet because she feels like its only a matter of time before he hurts her. everyone else does. she hopes he can except her past, especially since she accepts his, but she's not so sure he can. he looks at her like no other guy has ever looked at her and she doesn't want to lose that. i guess we'll see if love will keep them together.
